Day 12--My hands on my abdomen

I was asked to help find an image for a cover of a book--one on ovarian cancer.  I once had pre-cancerous cell show up in a routine pap smear-- I was lucky--it was caught so early that it was able to be treated by cyrosurgery.  I was  28 at the time.   I had my daughter vaccinated against HPV--to decrease her risk of developing ovarian cancer.   I found myself thinking about ovarian cancer--how it affects all women--it is universal.  How every woman regardless of race, age, and socio-economic factors--may be affected by this disease.  I found myself thinking how one would photograph, design or create an image that would capture the universality of the disease.  I begin to search the web--and I found several photos on-line with women hands on their abdomens-some with the hands forming a heart.  I begin to think perhaps a collage of women with their hands on their abdomen--with as much focus on the hands as possible.  I believe that our hands tell much of who we are--above is my first attempt--my hands on my abdomen.  My hands are plain, unpolished, middle aged, married and  adorned with bracelets. I sent an email out to about 25 friends and asked them to send me a picture of their hands and abdomens--as I want to create a woman collage.  So for my friends who received my email--I am really not losing mind.

Nic,

Love the word verf--they way I am built there is a lot of tip-lot-ia
which could be the amount of inertia needed to keep me upright. Send the pic when you can--I love you too--am working on a Mixxy--might take me forever--as my computer crashed (dead-as it no chance of rebirth) and I am in I-pod synchronicity hell ( apple customer service indicated that they would recommend a 3rd party source--if they could recommend a 3rd party source).

My po-lines need to be hoed--just run out of day before I can sit down to work the beds. I am still reading along--we shall see if after the 20th, I might come back for the big finish.

XXOOO
