A locust shell from my garden, three different photos processed a bit differently, original, B & W, and two with artistic filters applied, an evening of fun playing around with photo shop. I found myself amazed at the outer skin, its perfect mimicry of life, how at a glance it seemed alive. I have been mostly hibernating again, and it feels good, my garden is almost back in order, and I am feeling more and more like myself of late. This week my daughter has been gone and my husband and I spent the week just enjoying the company of each other, practicing couplehood and it was wonderful. It took from Saturday through Thursday to begin missing my daughter ( don't tell her that). I am excited that she will be coming home today.
So whats bugging me is that I can not say no to my daughter when it comes to music concerts. Tomorrow we spend a day at an all day outside concert Vans Warped Tour, and honestly I can not get the least bit excited, I have been thinking about faking sickness, but truthfully I believe faking illness is simply bad karma ( though I have done it a time or two or more). We will be going to Vans Warped Tour, an all day multi-band venue, at Fair Park in 100 degree weather with 4 teenage girls ( just shoot me now), thankfully my sister-in-law Kim is coming with us, so I will have good company. Monday I go to Chicago to teach a class and to give a presentation at a conference. I am excited, I am going to go the Art Institute of Chicago on Thursday night and see the Monets. I would love to write like Monet painted. I am taking my camera.

Hi Brenda,
That locust looks totally real...love the gripping pose! ; )
I bet you'll have a good time at the concert...with shade and seats and cool drinks, it should be fun!
take care
xx
Go, Go, Go! Never turn her down. Be happy you have her right now. I miss mine. I wish we had done more things together when she was here. But she is far away with kids of her own. And I wish, wish, wish we had taken advantage of our time together. ♥
Hi Liz,
It was fun, and thankfully it stayed below 100, which is like a cool front for us. I enjoyed it. Hope you are good, I have been enjoying your poems. Still no muse for me, but yesterday I felt her stir. Hugs

Hi Mimi,
You are right, I sometimes feels like these last few years are like quicksilver, and we are running towards adulthood, I enjoyed myself and next month her and I take our yearly trek to Alaska and it is one of both of our favorite times. Wishing you a wonderful week.

love the photos, brenda. and glad the thermostat cooperated and something warped the vans besides the sun.
Hi Sarah!!
Thank you for the kind words about the photos, our cold front was still 95 degrees, this week I have been in Chicago where the high was 82, I returned home yesterday to a 103. I enjoyed the concert despite myself, I am going to take Rach to see Aerosmith and ZZ Top next weekend, its her turn to humor me. I am going to peek in and read this weekend, the hotel in Chicago charged 6.95 an hour for i-net, so I am behind. Wishing you a wonderful weekend, next week I am in Santa Fe. I hope to be able to go see the cave drawings after work. Hugs.
